A clearer comparison

How to read these rates

  1. Choose your coverage

Start with federal or postal disability, critical illness, or a hospital plan. Each option keeps its own benefits and rate sheet together.

  2. Match the benefit and premium

For disability, compare the monthly benefit with its biweekly premium. For critical illness, match the employee basic benefit, issue-age band and coverage tier. For hospital indemnity, compare the plan and coverage tier.

  3. Check when benefits apply

Read the brochure for waiting periods, benefit periods, eligibility, exclusions and state availability before choosing coverage.

Is the monthly disability benefit what I pay?

The monthly benefit is the disability coverage amount you select. The biweekly premium is the price shown for that choice. Eligibility and policy terms determine the benefits payable.

Are all these premiums based on age?

The listed disability tables list premiums by monthly benefit. Critical illness tables use issue-age bands and coverage tiers. Hospital premiums are listed by plan and coverage tier. Eligibility and termination rules still apply.

Does using a rate lookup submit an application?

This page lets you review benefits and rates. Using a rate lookup or opening a brochure does not submit an application.

Pre-existing-condition losses during the first 12 months are excluded; the pregnancy waiting period is 10 months, with the limitation applying if the insured person is pregnant prior to the effective date. Other policy conditions apply.

How do the daily benefits differ?

The Low Premium Plan lists a $100 daily hospital benefit, up to 10 days. The High Benefit Plan lists a $200 daily hospital benefit, up to 10 days, for covered hospital confinement under the policy terms.
